Under the management of the Building Principal, this position is responsible for assigned tasks within the core knowledge areas identified for the position.  The person in this position uses clerical and secretarial skills to carry out the assigned tasks to meet the goals and objectives set forth annually by the Building Principal, Superintendent and School Board.

  • Assisting the Building Principal in daily office and school administration.
  • Preparing and distributing correspondence, newsletters, reports and other communications to stakeholders.
  • Arranging meetings and appointments, scheduling rooms and arranging for room set-up.
  • Maintaining building calendar and resolving scheduling conflicts as needed.
  • Opening, sorting and distributing mail.
  • Documenting and organizing procedures.
  • Coordinating building-level purchases, activity accounts and revenue collection.
  • Reconciling student attendance and preparing communications as appropriate.
  • Preparing and distributing student reports including report cards.
  • Participating in building and district-level committees as assigned.
  • Working with the principal and school staff to organize special programs, modified schedules and staff coverage.
  • Maintaining paper and electronic student records as needed in coordination with the Central Registration Secretary.
  • Answering phone inquiries within the Building Office and servicing customers as able within the designated core knowledge areas.
  • Servicing walk-in customers within the Building Office as able within the designated core knowledge areas.
  • Performing such other duties as may be required and assigned.

Work Schedule:

8 Hours, Hours determined by the Building Principal to meet the coverage needs of the school.

Emergency Management:

Position may involve emergency response activities that extend beyond the normal work day.

May be assigned as a designated  member of Joint School Safety Taskforce which may include working outside normal assignments to assist member school districts.

Job Rate:

Hiring: Current starting job rate based on classification.

Ongoing: As decided annually by the School Board.
