The Game Coordinator is accountable for the coordination of athletic contests and other extracurricular events for both the Millersburg Area and Upper Dauphin Area School Districts.  The person in this position uses coordination, organizational, communication, and conflict management skills to ensure that the assigned core knowledge areas are carried out effectively to meet the goals and objectives set forth annually in collaboration with the District Athletic Director, Building Principals, Superintendents, and School Boards.

  • Assists the District Athletic Director with all interscholastic athletic activities and extracurricular activities at both Millersburg Area and Upper Dauphin Area School Districts during the fall, winter, and spring athletic seasons.
  • Provide setup of all varsity, junior varsity, and junior high athletic events.
  • Coordinates athletic contests, including but not limited to supervision of the following personnel: ticket takers/ticket sellers, time keepers, score keepers, and announcers.
  • Coordinate with athletic trainer and medical personnel as needed.
  • Coordinate with game officials and provide assistance as needed.
  • Secure signatures of event workers and officials for payment vouchers for extracurricular activities and events and provide payment to officials at the contest site as able.
  • Adheres to and enforces Board Policies and administrative procedures of the respective district during extracurricular activities and events.
  • Responsible for adhering to the All-Hazards Plan of the respective district and serving as the incident commander for emergency incidents at events in the absence of other administrative personnel.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of all conduct incidents and any emergency incidents involving security, police, fire, and EMS.
  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating event workers for extracurricular activities and events.
  • Responsible for scheduling school security guards for events and coordinating with the School Safety and Security Coordinator as necessary for security related matters.
  • Provide ticket boxes to ticket takers and collect and secure ticket boxes after the event.
  • Perform any additional duties to fulfill the mission of the Districts as assigned by the Athletic Director, Building Principals, Superintendents or his/her designee.

Work Year:

Part-time, during the defined fall, winter, and spring sports seasons.

Work Schedule:

Flexible schedule to allow attendance at evening and weekend practices and contests.

Work hours based on contest and event schedules.

Emergency Management:

Position is required to fulfill emergency management responsibilities related to contests and events.

Position may be required to carry a District issued radio during work hours.

Job Rate:

Hiring: Salary commensurate with experience based on Extracurricular Pay Scale.

Ongoing: As decided annually by the School Board based on Extracurricular Pay Scale.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods (excess of two hours).
  • Repetitive movements of hands and fingers necessary for computer work.
  • Some lifting (75 lbs.) and some carrying (75 lbs.).
  • Some bending, stooping, climbing, reaching and turning/twisting.
  • Writing and computer entry.

Work Environment:

Indoor and outdoor athletic facilities.

Equipment to Operate:

Computer, mobile devices, telephone, audio/visual equipment, sound system, scoreboards, timers and radios.
