Virtual Learning Day Instructions
Refer below for instructions for a virtual learning day at UDASD
UDAES Virtual Learning Day Guidelines
Overall Expectations:
- Teachers will post assignments and/or recorded lessons by 8:00 AM.
- Teachers will be available for two hours of live office hours. Those hours will also be posted in the Google Classroom, Remind, or Class Dojo by 8:00 AM.
- Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom by date. Some teachers may have assigned paper copies of class work (“snow packets”) instead of posting assignments online.
- All work is due by the due date and time listed for each assignment.
- If work is not completed by the due date, the student may not receive credit.
- Attendance is completed by answering the attendance question listed for each day (or submitting the paper copies of class work by the date specified by the teacher).
- Attendance needs to be submitted by midnight each day or your child will be marked absent.
- If you have any issues regarding attendance, please email ESattendance@udasd.org or call (717) 362-6620 and leave a voicemail.
Parent Expectations:
- Check your child’s assignments daily and ensure that they are completing all assignments.
- Check Google Classroom, Remind, or Class Dojo for specific information and announcements.
- Help your child, but please do not complete the work for them.
- If you have any questions regarding technology, please contact the UDASD HelpDesk at helpdesk@udasd.org.
- If you do not hear back, please contact the elementary school office at 717-362-6619 and leave a voicemail detailing your issue.
- If you have questions specific to your student’s work/assignments, please contact the teacher.

UDAMS Virtual Learning Day Guidlines
Students should go on to Canvas to their Discovery Teacher’s page. If your student knows their log in, they can access Canvas from a home device. There will be a virtual attendance link posted by 8:00 AM. The link on the Discovery Canvas page should be clicked on and filled out by 6:00 PM for the student to be marked as present.

- Teachers will post assignments on Canvas by 8:00 AM
- Teachers will be available for two hours, if a Zoom/TEAMS meeting is needed. The hours will be posted on their Canvas Announcement.
- All work posted should be completed by the date and time assigned by the teacher.
- If work is not completed by the due date and time, they will receive no credit.
- If there are issues with technology, please call the MS office and leave a message. You can also email (from a home device) the teachers or principal.
Parent Expectations:
- Check to make sure your child is completing the attendance question
- Check Canvas for announcements and check assignments daily to ensure they are being completed
- If your child needs help they may reach out to their teacher during their office hours
- If you have questions specific to your child’s work/assignments, please contact the teacher
- If you have any issues with technology, please call the middle school office and leave a message outlining your problem.
UDAHS Virtual Learning Day Guidelines

- Teachers will post assignments by the time of their scheduled classes.
- Teachers will be available for two hours of live office hours. Those hours will
also be posted in the Announcements of each course by 8AM - Assignments will be posted in Canvas.
- All work is due by the due date and time listed for each assignment.
- Work is being graded just as if they were in-person so please ensure that
students are doing the work. If work is not completed by the due date, the
student will receive a zero. - Attendance is taken through a report on Canvas. Students must log in to
Canvas and complete their work prior to midnight on the remote day in order to
be marked present. - If you have any issues with technology, please call the high school office at
(717) 362 – 6469 and leave a message outlining your problem.
