In accordance with Pennsylvania law under Act 44 of 2025 and Board Policy 218.1 regarding weapons violations, we are notifying families and staff that a UDA High School student was found to be in violation of the policy.

Yesterday, May 26, 2026, an 18-year-old high school student was arrested on school property at the UDA High School as part of a separate and ongoing theft/burglary investigation that occurred within the community. Upon subsequent investigation, it was determined that there was a weapon and ammunition being stored in the vehicle that the involved student drove to school. Law enforcement confirmed the student was attempting to conceal the firearm within his vehicle and did not intend to bring the firearm into school. No evidence was uncovered by law enforcement that would suggest that any weapons made it into the school. All involved items associated with this investigation were recovered. Everyone involved in the original off-campus incident has been taken into custody. There is no threat to students, staff or the public.

UDASD administrators cooperated with the Pennsylvania State Police throughout the arrest and investigation. UDASD continues to take the safety and security of its students very seriously. Anyone with additional information should contact the Pennsylvania State Police at 717-362-8700.
