The Upper Dauphin Area School District uses the Pennsylvania Electronic Teacher Evaluation Portal to complete observations and evaluations for teachers and principals. This system is based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching.
The UDASD uses a differentiated supervision model in which teachers are formally observed every three years once they are granted tenure. Prior to being granted tenure, teachers are observed twice a year. In years when teachers do not receive formal observations, they complete a professional growth project which is reviewed by the principal.
